安楽死の合法化を！

 以前も書いたけど、例えば、
１）４０年の人生と
２）４０年の人生　プラス　一年の痛みに満ちた人生 があったとして、人間には、生命、自由、幸福追求の権利があるわけだから、その一環として、１）の人生を選ぶ権利がある、というのが私見。
フェルフールトさんが生前面白いことを言っていて、

ervoort was a strong advocate of the right to choose euthanasia, which is legal in Belgium. Like training hard, she said it gave her control and put “my own life in my hands”.

“I’m really scared, but those (euthanasia) papers give me a lot of peace of mind because I know when it’s enough for me, I have those papers,” she said. “If I didn’t have those papers, I think I’d have done suicide already. I think there will be fewer suicides when every country has the law of euthanasia. I hope everybody sees that this is not murder, but it makes people live longer.”

いつでも安楽死できると思うから自殺しないでいる。安楽死が合法化されれば、かえって自殺は減るだろう、と。
ーーー安楽死はいつでもできるから、もうちょっとがんばってみよう、と思うんだろうね。

“I feel different about death now than years ago,” Vervoort said. “For me I think death is something like they operate on you, you go to sleep and you never wake up. For me it’s something peaceful.”

死というのは、眠って目覚めないということ。自分にとってなにか 安らかで落ち着いたものだ、と。

　苦しみと絶望にとって死は休息を与えてくれるからね。
