As of early Friday, the vast majority of the 366 who had died by that point — 97% — had some sort of “underlying illness” that compromised their immune system, officials said.
About 76% of people 45 through 65 who have died had pre-existing conditions. That age group represents 104 patients.
• Some 81% of people 65 through 74 who have died had pre-existing conditions. That age group represents 110 patients.
• Some 86% of those 75 and older who have died had pre-existing medical conditions. That age group represents about 216 patients — or about 45% of all of the 450 COVID-19 patients who have died as of Friday afternoon.
