Antony Best Because both provide a good example of good practice. Japan presumably is not seen as reaching such heights.

宮丸 健一 The reason Japan is never mentioned is largely because the Western media want to paint it as "free/democratic Europe vs draconian Asia". Mentioning Japan would not suit their agenda, as they can't explain Japan's low death toll, and their argument would suddenly start to crumble.

篠田 英朗 It is better not to be mentioned. The Japanese TV commentators including Mr. Kenji Shibuya, now famous guy in Japan living in UK at Kings College, are saying that the entire world is severely criticizing Japan for its stupidity.

櫻田 淳 Thank you. The conditions of the Japan way is so specific to Japanese society that other counries may not be able to refer easily..

Antony Best It is not being criticised or praised, just ignored. And it is not because it is a democracy, but rather that South Korea is the model to use to criticise Johnson and Trump. Taiwan is not mentioned nearly as much as South Korea.
