The Pentagon on Wednesday gave its most dire assessment yet of the situation with the Ukraine, warning that 80% of Russian troops are in combat-ready positions with a full scale attack by Vladimir Putin imminent.

'They're ready to go now if they get the order to go,' a senior Defense Department official told reporters, adding that the Russian forces were positioned between 3 and 30 miles to the Ukrainian border.
