“I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31, NASB).
兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにあって、わたしがあなたがたにつき持っている誇にかけて言うが、わたしは日々死んでいるのである

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:3-8, ESV).


何事も党派心や虚栄からするのでなく、へりくだった心をもって互に人を自分よりすぐれた者としなさい。 4おのおの、自分のことばかりでなく、他人のことも考えなさい。 5キリスト・イエスにあっていだいているのと同じ思いを、あなたがたの間でも互に生かしなさい。 6キリストは、神のかたちであられたが、神と等しくあることを固守すべき事とは思わず、 7かえって、おのれをむなしうして僕のかたちをとり、人間の姿になられた。その有様は人と異ならず、 8おのれを低くして、死に至るまで、しかも十字架の死に至るまで従順であられた。

　解釈はいろいろあるようであるが、「小さな自我を捨てて人に尽くすこと」みたいな感じでもいいんじゃないか。
