We’d have been much better off if we gave people a realistic intuition about this virus’s transmission mechanisms. Our public guidelines should have been more like Japan’s, which emphasize avoiding the three C’s—closed spaces, crowded places, and close contact—that are driving the pandemic.

養子をもらって幸福な家族

 





FBなんかみていると、こういうのがときどき流れてくるんだよねえ。
上のは白人夫婦が黒人姉妹弟を養子に、下のはゲイカップルが赤ちゃんを養子に・・・

こういうのを日常生活で見慣れてくると、「あっ、養子ってすばらしいじゃないか」と思える人もふえてくるんじゃないかな？

日本のメディアもどんどん取り上げたらどうだろうか？

しかし、記事を読むと、ここでは、肉体的な”力”ではなく、社会的、政治的な権力だね。 

で、今回は声をあげたんだけど、権力によって

I had complained to friends that the Governor would go out of his way to touch me on my lower back, arms and legs. His senior staff began keeping tabs on my whereabouts. “He is a sexist pig and you should avoid being alone with him!” my mother texted me on November 4, 2016.

The Governor’s pervasive harassment extended beyond just me. He made unflattering comments about the weight of female colleagues. He ridiculed them about their romantic relationships and significant others. He said the reasons that men get women were “money and power.”

I tried to excuse his behavior. I told myself “it’s only words.” But that changed after a one-on-one briefing with the Governor to update him on economic and infrastructure projects. We were in his New York City office on Third Avenue. As I got up to leave and walk toward an open door, he stepped in front of me and kissed me on the lips. I was in shock, but I kept walking.

 

It was all so normalized — particularly by Melissa DeRosa and other top women around him — that only now do I realize how insidious his abuse was.

“I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Ms. Bennett said. “And was wondering how I was going to get out of it and assumed it was the end of my job.”

　じゃあ、恋愛しちゃいけないのか、というと・・・真摯に恋に落ちることもあるし、そうもいかないだろうとは思う。

　上司部下関係で独身同士なら・・・・就業時間以外で双方なっとくのいく場合もあるかもしれないが、どっちか一方が他方の地位に対する影響がない職場へ移転してからの恋の駆け引きのほうが安全かな？

　男性権力者のハラスメントに女性たちも直接間接に協力してしまうところがこわいね。

安倍氏にハグ、ハグと橋本氏がいやがる真央ちゃんに迫ったのを彷彿とさせるね。

ちなみに、欧米権力にひざまついてまねしろまねしろという出羽守も似たようなもんだけどね。

 黒人差別に対する抗議運動「ブラック・ライブズ・マター（BLM、黒人の命は大事だ）」が盛り上がった2020年夏、日本のSNS上ではしばしば、「日本には米国のようなひどい差別はない」という声が上がった。だが、本当にそうだろうか。

　日本に差別はあるが、アメリカの差別とは比較にならない。

　アメリカでは、黒人や先住民が警官に殺されているので、BLMがあるわけだし、民間人によるアジア人に対するヘイトクライムも暴力を含むものである。

　日本の在日に対する罵詈雑言、ヘイトスピーチは根絶すべきものであるけど、アメリカと比較してとやかくいうのは・・・・欧米崇拝か、欧米コンプレックスの裏返しだ。

　日本の差別問題を論じるのに宗主国アメリカの差別を持ち出す・・・情けない話ではないか？

The 717 per cent increase in anti-Asian hate crimes over the past year was included in a year-end report presented to the Vancouver Police Board on Wednesday.


The VPD reporting an increase from 12 cases of anti-Asian hate crimes in 2019 to 98 cases in 2020.

おさがりもいいけど、古いのは嫌だという子もいるだろうし・・・そもそもランドセルじゃなくても、かばんならなんでもいいことにして、制服なんかも、制服でもいいし、私服でもいいようにしないと、国が全部払ってくれるなら別だが、貧困家庭に負担が大きい。

問題にされているのは安倍ちゃんではなく、橋本さんの”強要”でしょ。

 

安倍ちゃんは気を使っているんだけど、問題にされているのは、何度もハグやれやれ言った橋本さんという権力者だね。 安倍ちゃんと報道用に、と橋本さんが権力のためにいやがる後輩にやらせようとしたところが問題にされているわけだね。

動画ではその部分ぬいちゃっているからわからなくなっている。

The Fourteenth Amendment (Amendment XIV) to the United States Constitution was adopted on July 9, 1868, as one of the Reconstruction Amendments. Often considered one of the most consequential amendments, it addresses citizenship rights and equal protection under the law and was proposed in response to issues related to former slaves following the American Civil War. 


The amendment's first section includes several clauses: the Citizenship Clause, Privileges or Immunities Clause, Due Process Clause, and Equal Protection Clause. The Citizenship Clause provides a broad definition of citizenship, nullifying the Supreme Court's decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857), which had held that Americans descended from African slaves could not be citizens of the United States. 


いろんな歴史的経緯があるんですね。

日本でも出生地主義をとるべきか、いなかは、これとはまた別に議論をすべき問題ではある。

歴史的経緯が違うから違う結論をとらなければならないわけでもなく、また、アメリカがやっているから、同じにすべき、というのもおかしな話。

While there are no official numbers on "birth tourism," the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that about 36,000 women come to the United States every year to give birth so their children can automatically become American citizens. CIS, which favors lower levels of immigration, reports that "birth tourism" is largely practiced by Chinese, but families also come from Taiwan, South Korea, Nigeria, Turkey, Russia, Brazil and Mexico.

おれはわかっていなかった、ないしは、問題の重大性についてわかっていなかった、自覚していなかった、ようにも思うけどね。

これは山下会長にも言えて、

また、公開して不公正を予防し、国民の信頼を維持するという会議公開する意義についても理解していないのではないか、という印象があるな。

難民をしっかり受け入れて誇れる国に。

 

 難民とは、

「人種、宗教、国籍、政治的意見やまたは特定の社会集団に属するなどの理由で、自国にいると迫害を受けるかあるいは迫害を受けるおそれがあるために他国に逃れた」

そして、

日本は1970年代後半のインドシナ難民（ベトナム・ラオス・カンボジア）の大量流出を受け、1981年に難民条約に加入し、インドシナ難民を11,319人受け入れました。（インドシナ難民の受け入れ事業は、2005年度をもって終了。）


　不法入国の経済移民を難民として認めろ、とは言わないが、やはり、難民はちゃんと受け入れるべき。

　現地への支援はするとして、縁あって日本に亡命してきている難民については、法的にまた、倫理的に引き受けるのが日本として義務。 

　杉原千畝さんを誇りに思うように、難民に対する倫理的義務を果たして誇れる国であってほしい。

　国際上の法的義務、また、倫理的義務のまえにあっては、経済的効率性は後退せざる得ない。

 新庁舎では会議室や委員会室などがある５階に災害時を想定した職員向けシャワー室を３室設置済み。しかも問題のシャワー室は市長室を通過しなければ入れない仕組みになっていることから、越川市議は「市長専用では」とただし、設置が議員や報道関係者向けの公開後だったことに不信感をあらわにした。

市長専用のガラス張りのシャワー室・・・怪しすぎるだろう。

そもそもガラス張りのほうがコストがかかるだろうし、市長がはいってくるかもしれず、ガラス張りにしたら、かえって不都合。

市長が使うにしても、ガラス張りの必要はない。

ズバリ、これは市長が愛人を連れ込んで、シャワーを浴びさせ、その姿を外から眺めるために作ったもの・・・・・じゃないかなあああ、なんて思った人いるかな？

国籍あっても差別はされる

 

ただ、いずれにせよ、問題はアメリカでも日本でも、国籍があっても差別はあるわけで・・・先住民や黒人、ラティーノにエージアンで米国籍あっても、差別されるし、日本でも在日の人が日本国籍とっても差別的発言をする人たちはいるわけで・・・・そういった差別の解消というのが必要だよね。

　朝鮮戦争でほぼすべてを失った両親は漁船で日本に密入国し、柳氏は日本で生まれた。幼いころに両親は離婚した。柳氏の最終学歴は中卒だという。高卒以上でないためアルバイトもままならなかった。日本社会の底辺で育ち学歴もほぼなかったゆえに、目を向けられない人たち、社会の底辺にいる人たちの声に耳を傾けたいと語る。

　ウィキみると、韓国人としてのアイデンティティーというのはたぶんほぼ皆無で、日本で「韓国人」として差別されているというアイデンティティーというのか、それが皮膚に焼印された刻印の傷のようになって、その人となり、アイデンィティーの重要な一部になってしまっているような感じかな。

　こういう人はわりといるんじゃないかね。

　モーリーくんとか町山くんとか・・・・なにか主張するとき、その主張とは関係ない親の出自など問題にする人たちがでてくる。ずっとやられて、うんざり、むかつき、怒り、あきらめが混じったような感情をもっているのは想像に難くない。

老後の互助組合を

 

　老後の互助組合というのグッドアイデアで、これからいろんな形態がでてくるんじゃないかな？　家族もっている人でも、家族が頼れるとは限らず、たぶん、需要はある。

　養子縁組すれば、病状説明は受けられるだろうが、それでは、配偶者としてではなく、親子として説明をうけることになる。説明してもらえればいいじゃないか、そこまでうるさくいうなよ、といえばそれまでだが、本人たちにとってはそれでは実態を反映していない。

　同性婚でも子育てをする可能性もあるわけで、その場合、子に対する権利義務を認めるべきであって、やはり、結婚して家族として認めてあげたほうがいい。

　人間や社会が生き残っていく上で、法的な結婚が必須とは言わない。そんなに重要なものとも思わないが、なんで、従来型の法律婚の維持に固執するのか・・・・そこがわからんところだなあ。

　性的関係のある（養）親子を認めるというのも従来型家族からの逸脱なわけで、こっちのほうがかなりやばいのに、なんでこっちだけ認めて、同性婚は認めたがらないのか？・・・そこがなああ。

　経済的合理性から考えると、日本語ができて、日本でちゃんと働ける非正規 移民に在留許可→永住許可→帰化への道を作ってあげたほうが新たに訓練して呼び寄せるよりもよほど効率的だと思うんだなあ、おれは。

　日本語ができないで日本文化にも敬意を示さないようなのは帰ってもらう。

　日本語能力試験とか課してもいい。

　たしかに、オーバーステイなのに許可していいのか、という問題はあるが、オーバーステイして、許可がおりるのは例外だから、際立った問題にもならない、というのが私見。

　文化的摩擦の懸念という意味では、正規に呼び寄せても同じ問題はあるわけだしね。

Expert Opinion Can’t Be Trusted If You Consult the Wrong Sort of Expert

GHSI researchers evaluated global pandemic preparedness in 195 countries, and the U.S. was judged to be the most prepared country in the world. The U.K. was rated second overall. New Zealand clocked in at 35th. Vietnam was 50th. Well, those experts certainly got that wrong. Vietnam and New Zealand had among the best responses to the COVID-19 pandemic; the U.K. and the U.S. were among the worst.

To evaluate American preparedness accurately, the GHSI group needed input from anthropologists, psychologists and historians who understood American politics and culture. In fact, it would have had to grant social scientific expertise primacy because social factors, such as racial inequality, most strongly shaped the American outcome. Around the globe, whether countries were able to mount an effective pandemic response depended crucially on governance and the response of their citizens to that governance. The GHSI team got it wrong because the wrong experts were chosen.

NICARAGUA’S GENDER GAP: RANKINGS AND REALITY

The index is designed to measure women’s positions compared to men in their own country rather than the status of women compared to women in other countries. Thus, despite what rankings might suggest, the report does not claim that the status of Nicaraguan women is better than or on par with other countries in the top ten. Yet headlines such as Nicaragua in Fifth Position For Gender Equality in the World or Nicaragua, the world’s unlikely champion of gender equality suggest otherwise.


 Nicaragua has high rates of gender-based violence. As many as half of Nicaraguan women experience gender-based violence in their lifetimes. According to the United Nations Population Fund, Nicaragua has the second highest rate of adolescent pregnancies in Latin America. Almost 30% of women give birth before age 18, and half of those are in girls ages 10-14. Many of these pregnancies are the result of sexual assault. In fact, more than 80% of sexual violence victims in Nicaragua are 16 or younger. Women and girls lack the freedom to make decisions on their reproductive health. Abortion, previously legal for limited health reasons, was made illegal in November 2006. While Nicaragua’s maternal mortality rate has improved in recent years, it remains high. According to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), 20% of all maternal deaths were adolescent mothers.


In 2008, only 8.6% of mayors were women. These are important strides in increasing women’s representation in government, but has that increase in women in elected office translated into policies that improve the lives of women? 

Under pressure from the religious leaders, provisions in the law were struck down by courts. Other key provisions had no budget. Two years later, a presidential decree weakened the law by emphasizing family units over the rights of women. In 2016 the country’s women-only police stations (comisarías), which were specifically charged with investigating violence against women, were closed. 


The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap rankings create a false impression of progress in many countries, including Nicaragua. This gap between ranking and reality obscures the very real struggles faced by women in countries like Nicaragua, where structural discrimination and gender-based violence persist.

I got pulled in for questioning by Japanese police once many years ago. It was just days after the nightclub bombing (which isn't even in Japan). Happened just after leaving the train station. Very polite. Served me tea while they called my in-laws house to confirm my passport which I had forgotten to carry that day. They were just extra cautious after the bombing they said and didn't see many foreigners in that little suburban station. I believe him.

Got visited by the police twice because someone phoned in a noise complaint. Still don't know who it was but I have my suspicions. Wasn't making any noise. Anyway, the police that came were fairly friendly and polite. It was clear that they were being inconvenienced by this idiot and unfortunately the law in Japan states that all calls to 110 have to be investigated. In my country, the police wouldn't give you the time of day. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad.

どんどん特別養子縁組を！

 


　血がつながっていても崩壊してしまう家族もあるし、血がつながっていなくても愛情で結ばれている家族もある。

　歴史的、法的には家族は血でつながっているのであるが、家族的関係を維持するのに血は必須ではない。家族的関係を維持するのは、愛情や献身や忍耐であって、血ではない。

　親子関係に憧れて、愛情を注ぎ、献身、忍耐する決意があるなら、どんどん特別養子縁組やったらいい。子供にとってもいい、親にとってもいい。

　アメリカのニュースなんかでも戦争孤児や障害者の養子とか同性カップルが養子をとった、とかしばしば報道される。そりゃ、家族だから大変なこともあるだろうけど、あれはあれで美しいな、と思う。

　人権外交は勢力拡大の手段、というのは国際政治の定理みたいなもんなんだろうね。

　ウイグルチベット然り、慰安婦問題然り、フィリピンの人権問題然り。

　人権は本来、政治的勢力争いとは関係ないところでーーというか政治的紛争に抗してーーその威力を発揮するはずの概念であったが、現実には勢力内の構成員を守るだけで、部族外の人たちの人権については、勢力拡大の手段として有用なときにしかほとんど機能しない。

・・・・人権、人権って言っている左派にして勢力争いに使うときだけ叫び、それ以外は沈黙してしまうわけだから・・・・悲しい哉、ジンケン

コロナ病床、日本は英米の1割どまり

公立病院の多くがコロナ患者を受け入れているのに対し、民間の受け入れは3割弱にとどまる実態もある。民間は院内感染リスクなど経営への影響を懸念する。

菅義偉首相は1月の記者会見で「ベッドは数多くあるわけだから、働きかけをずっと行ってきている」と語ったが、病床確保は思うように進んでこなかったのが現実だ。　確保した病床を有効活用するために大病院はコロナ患者に集中し、小規模病院が他の医療を受け持つような役割分担も進んでいない。田村憲久厚生労働相は「（平時から）地域医療計画に盛り込み準備、訓練しておくべきだった」と反省する。


終わったことはしょうがない。アメとムチで医療体制を改善しないと。

FREEDOM AND ALLIANCE IN JEOPARDY IN SOUTH KOREA: AN INSIDER’S TESTIMONY


 Now no North Korean or Chinese communist agent operating in South Korea needs to be worried about being caught and prosecuted while South Koreans cannot freely talk about their own history or events they themselves witnessed. Given the highly partisan character of Korea’s presidential system, no public servant will dare to raise questions, let alone objections, to anything the President and his ruling entourage do, unless he or she is prepared to risk not only a career, but possibly his or her own life


 While these legislative acts taking away some basic constitutional rights were proceeding, two exceptionally courageous individuals, the Director General of Audit and Inspection, Choe Jae-hyung, and Attorney General Yoon Seok-youl were engaged in a deadly struggle to resist president Moon’s attempt to dismantle Korea’s nuclear reactor program and decimate the prosecutorial system which tried to probe into crimes associated with the president’s inner circle. A handful of young judges followed suit lighting new hopes. That, however, did not deter the ruling party from impeaching a judge, charged with having exercised undue influence on a judgement affecting the ousted president but found innocent by the court. This was a gross violation of the principle of separation of powers and unprecedented even in Korea

Furthermore, this happened only two days after the country was shocked to discover a secret government document file which revealed that while president Moon was pushing the policy of swiftly dismantling the nuclear energy system of the country, the government was planning to build a nuclear reactor for North Korea, possibly using some of the material from a south Korean reactor hastily dismantled by a presidential order.

 

This is the current state of Moon Jae-in’s populist democracy in South Korea. Two former Presidents, a former Chief Justice, three of the country’s former NIS chiefs, and countless other high-ranking officers of the former administration were imprisoned or harassed on various charges of misdemeanor or corruption soon after the launching of the Moon government.

In January this year, the ousted president drew a final sentence of 22 years of imprisonment with a fine and indemnity payment amounting to over twenty million dollars on highly disputable ground.  What Moon Jae-in and his covertly anti-American, openly anti-Japanese, pro-Chinese, and pro-North Korean regime has done is nothing less than a systematic attack on the liberal democratic governance so painstakingly built up over the past seventy years.  Besides those who have faced various forms of persecution because of their association with previous presidential administrations, many others suffered because they dared openly to criticize or caricature Moon’s politics of populism and provided leadership to the increasingly vociferous anti-Moon demonstrations.  One prominent leader of the anti-Moon rallies, a Protestant  minister named Chun Kwang-hoon, was at first harassed with a  charge of having caused massive coronavirus infection and then was imprisoned along with many other anti-Moon dissidents on minor violation of rules on mass meetings.

Not by coincidence, the country has witnessed over thirty unexplained and under-investigated suicides among prominent personages on both sides of the political divide since the inauguration of the Moon government.


As a person old enough to have lived through all these historical moments and also as a specialist in Russian history, I could see early on that Moon Jae-in and his cohorts, the so called “progressives” and members of the “Democracy Together” Party (literal translation of the ruling party) in Korea, were no liberals in the normal American sense of the term, but really latter day Leninists under the guise of “progressive” fighters for democracy determined to make a clean break with the liberal democratic system established in Korea in close alliance with the United States.


What Moon and his ruling circle did since his assumption of power  was all to be expected by persons, who like me, knew from the beginning the ideological orientation and true political intent of that particular group--they had been systematically trained in their youthful days to worship Kim Il-sung and his heirs as the true carriers of Korea’s spirit of independence and moral legitimacy unlike their southern counterparts. The southerners, according to them, had become lackeys of American or Japanese imperialism. 

It might be already too late to stop South Korea from going totalitarian people’s democracy with foreseeable consequences. 

We have to admit the inconvenient and painful fact that South Korea, in spite of its great economic superiority over North Korea, lost the war of propaganda and agitation to the North so that the people have voted into power persons, starting with president Moon, who believe that bringing two Koreas together under the aegis of the nuclear-powered North Korea serves the best interest of the Korean people and would stop at nothing to achieve their goal.

それを踏まえてだなああ、日本は軍事的に半島と決別し日本及び自由民主陣営の防衛のためにいまこそ立ち上がらなければならんのだよっ、諸君。

産経も韓国への未練は捨て、宗主国アメリカ様に「韓国は捨てて、日本は自由陣営の最前線に立ちます」と直言すべきだ。

ちなみに、文さんも大統領辞めたら捕まるな、やっぱ・・・伝統だし。
