ロシア側も西側も似たような「原則」に基づいて政治宣伝はしているであろうから、注意する必要はある。

　しかし、この本英語の翻訳版がないというのが、なんとも・・・だよなあ。

　しかし、西側がロシアに２度と今回のような侵略させないようにロシアを弱体化させることで団結している以上、反米諸国を支援するほどの余裕はもうなくなるのではないか？

But the dissonances of the novel align into perfect vision for the breathtaking ending, which is an argument in favor of meaning, of beauty, of life. It is rare for a writer as complex as Kawakami to be so unafraid of closure, to be as capable of satisfying, profound resolution.

やっぱ、ニーチェ風の神が死んだ世界である。正午ーつまり事物の影はなくなり、しかも、太陽もなくなって一切がそれ自体で輝いている世界。永劫回帰を匂わす表現である。

From all he has said, it is the encirclement of Russia by NATO including Ukraine that moved him to take this measure. Ukraine is not simply a neighbouring country. 　ちょっと前まで英語圏メディアでは、ウクライナは白人至上主義者のメッカみたいなこと言っていた。 北朝鮮のような地獄でも長続きしているもんなああ。

地獄は人間がいる限り消滅しないのかもね。

偶然、自由で民主的な日本に生まれてよかった。

 




おれもそう思うんだなあ。なんでこんなに評価されるのかわからない。

名作かもしれないけど、当時の革新的技術が後にみんなに採用されるようになって「今となっては」という感じ。

　アメリカ文化の中心であるアメリカン・ドリームが実は虚しいものなんだ、というテーマはアメリカの繁栄がある程度続く限り、繰り返されるアメリカにとっては重いテーマなのかもしれないね。

 リバタリアンに対する批判としてリバタリアンは個人というのを社会に無関係に存在しているように思っているがそれは違う、個人はつねにすでに社会的存在なんだ、という批判は昔からあった。　

　しかし、執筆者によると、その批判はあたらない、と。リバタリアンも個人は社会的存在であると認めているし、社会にとって共通の善なるものをちゃんと考えている、と。リバタリアンにとっての共通善というのは自由なんだ、と。

　問題は義務をどう考えるか、だ、と。

　リバタリアンは、他人に危害を与えていはいけない、と考えている。これは普遍的な義務だ、と。それ以外の義務は他人と約束した場合に生じる義務で、それ以外の義務は不当だ、と。

　これに対して、コミュニタリアニズムは、以上の義務以外に、社会の構成員であることから当然に義務が生じる、と。リバタリアンは反対する。

　また、共通善に関しても、リバタリアン以外の人たちは、例えば、政府による年金給付金を共通善といって社会保障の支払いを義務化しているが、しかし、政府による年金制度は不公平であり、民間によるものほうが公平で優れており、国民に選択の自由を与えるべきだ、とリバタリアンは主張するのである、と。

ーーーこれはこれで面白いですね。ただ、例えば、年金制度で現行の制度が公平でないとしても、リバタリアンによる制度・・・あるいは無制度のほうが公平かどうかは・・・わからんでしょうね。

うーん。それもあるかもしれないが、他の国があげられていて、日本があげられていないのは　なんで、とは思うだろうなあ。 イギリスの自虐ネタってちょろいなああ、というかかわいい、というか・・・ 自分が駄目なところを笑いながらそうやって笑っている自分にうっとりしている、というか・・・

　 ロシアの残虐行為については許されない。ただ、ロシアをひとり本質的に悪魔視する傾向については私も反対で、戦争の残虐性一般性として論じるべきだ、と主張してきた。そして、どの国が一番残酷かを論じるのは意味がない、と。

 イギリスでもイギリス兵の残虐行為とかの出てきてしかるべきなのに・・・・でてきているのか？

　大日本帝国の行動が全体主義だったということと、ヒロヒトが その責任者である、というのは別のはなし。敗戦のときからそれは問題になっていたわけだね。

日本もスエーデンのように徴兵制を導入すべきだ、と言っているのか？

　ウクライナの個別自衛権は理解できる。米欧の武器提供も理解できる。スエーデンの徴兵制も理解できる。しかし、日本は、ウクライナに関しては声援と人道支援だけ。防弾チョッキの提供も反対・・・という共産党と同じじゃないか、と思うんだがね。

IS CONSUMPTION TAX REGRESSIVE? A LIBERTARIAN PERSPECTIVE Conference Paper · August 2017 

 The regressivity claim by detractors of consumption tax is further refuted in a later Canadian case study. Researching in Quebec, Godbout and St-Cerny (2011) disproved the belief that the province’s consumption tax was regressive, despite popular opinion to the contrary. Using data from Statistics Canada’s 2008 Survey of Household Spending, they examined taxable and non-taxable spending among five quintiles of household incomes. Because of the exclusion of certain goods and services from GST/PST, and refundable credits, the share of GST/PST paid by the lowest 20% income bracket was 2.6%, whereas the share paid by the highest income bracket was 44.1%. This demonstrated that consumption tax, particularly in the form of a RST, brings in larger sums from the wealthy not so much by design as by default. They pay more tax because they purchase more. This will form a core argument of the libertarian defense of consumption tax, as it suggests those who acquire the most property pay the proportionate amount for the protection of that property.
Atkinson さんとかは消費税も軽減税率にすれば逆進的ではない、という意見なんだろうね。
景気への悪影響を和らげる政策としては、全世帯に同一額を一律に給付する方が、簡単であり、効果も高い。一律給付の方が、増税により消費が抑制される低所得世帯の負担の軽減が大きくなり、経済全体の消費への好影響は必ず大きくなるのである。さらに高所得者層を給付の対象から除外することができれば、公平性の観点からより望ましくなるだけでなく、より少ない財源で消費の押し上げを実現できる。

こうした方針に至ったのは、ロシアの中産階級の間では侵攻を支持する割合が高く、中途半端な形での幕引きで不満が高まることを警戒したからだという。

There is growing evidence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine, including signs of indiscriminate shelling and summary executions, the United Nations human rights office says, adding Ukraine also appeared to have used weapons with indiscriminate effects.

During a mission to Bucha on April 9, UN human rights officers documented the unlawful killing, including by summary execution, of around 50 civilians, it said.

They have received more than 300 allegations of killings of civilians in the regions of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Sumy, all under the control of Russian armed forces in late February and early March.

Monitors were looking into allegations of sexual violence by members of the Russian armed forces, and reports that both sides were improperly detaining civilians, the organisation said.

However, asked about allegations of genocide - including by US President Joe Biden - spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said OHCHR had not found information to back this up.

　国連によると無差別砲撃、即決処刑などロシアによる違法な殺害の証拠が積み上がっている、と。

　ただし、法的に限定された意味での「民族虐殺」といえるかどうかは、最終的には司法が決定するものであり、その件に関する情報は見出していない、と

ーーーロシアによる違法で大量な殺害はあった、しかし、それがジェノサイドとよべるかどうかは、さらに満たすべき要件があり、わからない、ということであろう。
