I’m distraught that the White House is pursuing policies that harm the rights of women and girls, harm the rights of people with same-sex sexual orientation, and encourage young people to dissociate from their bodies - while vilifying those who draw attention to these abuses.

The first technique used by gender identity zealots is to say “No debate”, arguing that it is debating the “existence” of trans people, and provoking depression, anxiety and even thoughts of suicide. This is emotional manipulation, and ignores the rights and feelings of others./3


The second is to claim that self-identification of sex (misleadingly called “trans rights”) do not affect anyone else’s rights. This is plainly nonsense, as speaker after speaker explained: it affects the rights of women and girls, and of LGB people, especially lesbians. /4


The third is to say those seeking this debate are whipping up or driven by a “moral panic”, while those arguing for self-ID (“trans rights”) simply want equality. This sometimes degenerates into calling women’s and LGB rights campaigners “bigots”, “fascists”, “genocidal” etc./5


Finally, self-ID zealots use a variety of anecdotes to bolster their claim that they are speaking on behalf of “the most vulnerable group in society”. Quite aside from the many many other groups that might be described in this way, this too is emotional manipulation. /6
