(3/18) There are two worlds with two sets of characters.

Barbieland: Barbies and Kens.

The Real World: Humans (almost all men).

Basically, Barbieland is a feminist utopia and the Real World is a patriarchal reality (get it, cuz it's called the "Real World").

(6/18) All of the women (the Barbies) are good and (almost) all of the men (the Kens and humans) are bad.

It's literally that black and white. There's no nuance or complexity to any of the characters in both worlds.

(7/18) Of course, all of the men in the Real World are sexist, mean, stupid, and full of toxic masculinity.

When Barbie travels from Barbieland to the Real World, she goes to jail for punching a man who slaps her butt in public (cuz that happens ALL the time in THE REAL WORLD).

(11/18) At this point, I had completely checked out.

Somehow, the Kens takeover Barbieland and turn it into an oppressive, patriarchal dystopia.

Barbie and the Hispanic savior break the Barbies of their patriarchal conditioning by interrogating them with feminist logic.

(12/18) As the plot meanders to a resolution, Barbie unites all of the Barbies and overthrows the Ken patriarchy.

The Kens are demoted to second-class citizens and can now only occupy "lower positions."

Finally, Barbie leaves Ken to get a corpo job in the Real World (so brave).

(13/18) So after all of that, what's the message?

Women = good.
Men = bad.

Feminism = good.
Masculinity = bad.

Again, I'm NOT exaggerating or reading into the movie. It literally says all of this (sometimes word-for-word).

(15/18) In the beginning, Margot Robbie, "Stereotypical Barbie" as she's called, is peak femininity. She's beautiful, warm, and caring.

In the end, she's a strong, independent woman who leaves Ken to climb the corpo ladder and smash the patriarchy.

She don't need no man!

(16/18) What is this movie telling the young girls watching?

Leave your boyfriend, be ugly, work in a soulless corporation... and you'll be happy?

Good women are men? Good men are women?

If women ran everything, the world would be perfect?

We don't need men?

(17/18) None of these messages are inspiring, empowering, or make any sense. It's all silly, low-IQ, preachy feminist garbage that normal people can't stand.

The only message people will get is feminism is cancer.
