パラッと読んで抜き書きすると

 “Anarchists are simply people who believe human beings are capable of　behaving in a reasonable fashion without having to be forced to.”4

At their very simplest, anarchist beliefs turn on to two elementary　assumptions. The first is that human beings are, under ordinary circumstances, about as reasonable and decent as they are allowed to be, and can organize themselves and their communities without needing to be told how. The second is that power corrupts.

To cut a long story short: anarchists believe that for the most part, it is power itself, and the effects of power, that make people stupid and irresponsible.

But every time you reach an agreement by consensus, rather than threats, every time you make a voluntary arrangement with another person, come to an understanding or reach a compromise by taking due consideration of the other person’s particular situation or needs, you are being an anarchist — even if you don’t realize it. Anarchism is just the way people act when they are free to do as they choose, and when they deal with others who are equally free — and therefore aware of the responsibility to others that entails.

アナーキズムというのは、

１）普通の状況では人間は誰にも命令されることなくそこそこうまくやっていける

２）権力は腐敗する

というのが核心的信条。

上下関係もなく話し合って全て決めていく・・・自由と平等が社会の隅々まで染み付いた社会。強制など力で他人を動かそうとすることから愚かな間違いがおきるんだ、と。

Majority democracy, we might say, can only emerge when two factors coincide:

1. a feeling that people should have equal say in making group decisions, and

2. a coercive apparatus capable of enforcing those decisions.

For most of human history, it has been extremely unusual to have both at the same time. Where egalitarian societies exist, it is also usually considered wrong to impose systematic coercion. Where a machinery of coercion did exist, it did not even occur to those wielding it that they were enforcing any sort of popular will.

多数決民主主義というのは

１）自分たちのことを決めるのに各人が平等の発言権があり、

２）そこで決めたことを強制する手段がある

場合に出現するが、この２つは反りが合わない。平等社会は強制力を嫌うし、強制力を持つものがいれば、彼は、みんなの意見など聞く気にもならない。

It isn't hard to see why the dominators hate direct democracy. Their power to dominate would quickly fade. 

支配者が直接民主制を嫌うのは、直接民主制にすると支配力が弱まるからだ、と。

[C]ommunism really just means any situation where people act according to this principle: from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. This is, in fact, the way pretty much everyone acts if they are working together. If, for example, two people are fixing a pipe and one says "hand me the wrench," the other doesn't say "and what do I get for it?

Becoming aware of alternatives allows us to see everything we are already doing in a new light. We realize we're already communists when working on common projects, already anarchists when we solve problems without recourse to lawyers or police, already revolutionaries when we make something genuinely new.

　共産主義というのは、能力に応じて働き、必要に応じて受け取るの原理が作動している、ということだ、と。

　なんか高尚なことではなく、友達どうしのでは普段やっていることで、例えば、友達同士でなにか協同でものをつくっているとき、力のあるものが荷物を持ち上げ、屋根を打ち付ける、他のものは下で軽いものを運ぶとか・・・それでいてできたものをみんなでつかう・・・「ペンチ取ってくれ」 と言われて「いくらで」と賃金を要求したりしないだろう、と。

　また、警官や暴力団など強制、脅迫を排除した形で問題解決しているとき、われわれはすでにアナーキストなんだ、と。

ーーー無政府主義というとなんか過激なイメージがありますけど・・・過激は過激なんだけど、混沌とか暴力といった感じでは全然ない。

　一切の暴力・強制力を拒絶し、個人の自由と平等を最大限強調した思想なんだろうね。

　グレーバーはいわゆる政権を奪うような形の革命ではなく、現在ある国家のなかで国家の強制力を無力化するような村社会の形成を夢見ていたようではある・・・・

　おれも自由と平等を最大限尊重したいと思うし、「権力は腐敗」し、「普通の状況では大抵の人たちは強制力なしに、合理的でそこそこの生活をしていくことできる」という点はそうだろうな、とは思うんだけど、「普通の状況」が続くとも限らず、「異常な人」もいるわけだよね。そうした場合、最大限の自由と平等な社会の均衡が崩れるだす・・・・いったん崩れだすと暴力団のような階層社会が生まれてしまう・・・・それを阻止するためには社会の最大限の合意というか・・・「合意」といってもともすれば権力者のための合意になってしまうのだが・・・底辺の人たちも安心してそこそそこの生活できる社会を守っていけるような強制力の装置と実践は必要なんじゃないか、というのがおれの感想。
