なおミツバチは通常、群れが大きくなると新たな女王が誕生し、それまで産卵していた女王は働き蜂を連れて巣分かれ（分蜂）するが、今回のように分蜂する前に殺されることがあるそうだ。その理由は、女王蜂の出す匂い（フェロモン）が弱まったり、産卵能力が低下したり、巣の中でのストレスが高まるなどしてミツバチが巣の存続の危機を感じるためだという。

女性差別だな。
